Linda Brady

M.A., LPC, LCPC, ATR

Linda graduated from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville with a master’s degree in Art Therapy Counseling and is licensed in Missouri and Kansas. Post graduate training includes Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness practices, and Spiritual studies.

With a background in art therapy and studio art, Linda has an experiential approach for treatment that encourages going out of your comfort zone to effectively address the problem that brings you into therapy. Treatment often begins with a focus on self-care and strengthening emotion regulation and communication skills so you can see more clearly what is in your control and what you value. From this standpoint it is possible to see challenges as opportunities for growth and skillfully address your situation.

It takes courage to believe things can be different and commit to counseling. Linda believes that by taking this first step together with a willingness to look at things with new eyes, the path will appear and be filled with potential and grace.

Linda was born in Kansas City, married, and moved to the St. Louis area where she raised two sons and was sole proprietor of a needlework and custom frame shop before making the decision to go back to graduate school. She recently returned to Kansas City to help care for her parents and has reconnected with friends from high school. Family is most important and hers has just grown with the addition of a granddaughter born in January. Interests include hiking, biking, rockhounding, drawing, painting, ceramics, and digital photography.
