Psychological testing involves the use of various measures to help assess intellectual, academic, emotional, behavioral and personality functioning. It helps facilitate a deeper understanding of the client, aids in treatment planning and may advocate for services in the school system when applicable.
Assessment Fees:
$300 reservation fee is required at the time of scheduling.
To give you an idea, a full battery of tests is typically $1,440-$1,800. The cost of a psych eval depends on how much time it takes to complete it including the initial clinical interview, testing, report writing, and feedback session.
Some insurance plans do cover portions of psychological testing. We would be happy to call your insurance carrier and see what testing benefits you do have.
Assessment Procedure:
1. Our testing procedure begins with information gathering including the purpose of the evaluation to gain an understanding of the questions the psychological evaluation will address.
2. A clinical interview follows next by obtaining a comprehensive biopsychosocial history including childhood history, relationships, employment, substance use, and psychiatric history. Collateral information is obtained when necessary from treatment providers such as pediatricians, psychiatrists, and therapists.
3. In the next visit, psychological testing is conducted including completing questionnaires, computer- based testing, IQ assessments, and parent/teacher reports when needed.
4. HGCC is committed to providing clients with feedback regarding the results of the assessment in a timely manner. Once the report is completed, the family/ client is asked to return to the office to provide feedback including the results of the psychological evaluation and recommendations.
