Mary Kate Short is a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Missouri (LCSW) and in the state of Kansas (LSCSW). Mary Kate has thirteen years of experience working with children, families and adults in a wide variety of circumstances. Mary Kate has experience in the hospital setting and in the school setting, providing crisis intervention and trauma informed services to children and families. 

Mary Kate has a bachelors degree in Social Work from the University of Missouri, as well as a masters degree in Social Work from the University of Missouri. Mary Kate enjoys her time as a therapist and sees clients of all ages. Mary Kate practices with an eclectic approach, using strategies from many different perspectives. Mary Kate is currently gaining certification in play therapy. Mary Kate draws from principles from cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, acceptance commitment therapy, and trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy. Ultimately, Mary Kate tries to approach all of life with a strengths based perspective and this provides great perspective while providing therapy to people in all walks of life.

Mary Kate is a wife to her husband Craig and a mom to two young daughters and loves spending time with her extended family. Mary Kate enjoys spending time outside running and being active, and enjoys spending time taking care of her yard and garden.
